Pinterest play day. -Parmesean Baked Chicken

Like everyone else,  when you don't know what to fix for dinner but you're tired of always fixing the same thing you turn to pinterest. I try to make a new recipe a couple times a month. This happens to be one of those recipes. It was pretty delicious! My family of men said save this recipe!
I originally found this recipe at

http://www.kitchme.com/recipes/kittencals-easy-and-delicious-ranch-parmesan?invite=4abv

I bought all the ingredients at Aldi. Including the fresh parmesean. Also the recipe calls for bread crumbs or Panko. I got garlic crotons and smashed the hell out of them on the bag with a rolling pin.  I think it added a ton of Flavor.  Either way, give this recipe a try I'm betting your family will love it. It's simple fast and easy! !

Brats & Potato Wedges

What did humans do before pinterest?! I am admittedly a pinterest junkie! My best crafts, parties, gifts and meals all come from this very very addicting website! I know I'm not alone...but if you're living under a rock and don't know what pinterest is you should really check it out! Www.pinterest.com -you can thank me later :)

....Now onto my latest pinterest play day...today I used two recipes for our dinner. On average we try a pinterest recipe about 3 times a month..my family will either say keep the recipe or lose it...both these recipes they say are keepers!

First recipe is the potatoe wedges..easy peasy..the key to great wedges is PARCHMENT PAPER folks! The taters come out nice and golden !

Here is the link to the recipe. Very flavorful.

The next recipe is for the bratwurst. When I make this again I will either use plain beer or perhaps that apple ale beer. The recipe calls for grilling the brats for a few minutes but it's been so cold and frigid here in Michigan that the thought of going outside makes me cold. For what little bit you grill them I found it not worth going outside for...I did however pull out the ole' George Foreman...that seemed to have did the trick. I also added fresh sliced mushrooms to the onions and sauce.
Give this recipe a shot. It's worth trying and changes up a simple brat!

If you Decide to try any of these recipes let me know what you guys think! Big thanks to the original posters of the recipes!

I'm sharing it because it's a great gift to use for many occasions for the person that has everything! I mean who doesn't love scratch offs! Nothing says I love you like if you win big I'm entitled to half ha ha!! I don't know who originally made this on pinterest but thanks!

Pinterest Play Day.....

Cards..Cards..and..well...I didn't hardly do any cards!
If you have been following my blog, you might remember, that for New Years, I posted a monthly goal for things to get done each month that pertains to Christmas.
For the month of February the challenge was to make Christmas cards...well this girl ....me...I got done...DRUM ROLL...............................2!!! Yes, you read that right, TWO! How's that for sticking to the program??!!
Thankfully tho, I had done several other cards right after Christmas so I do have a small stack ready to go! But I shall not make excuses for thyself!
Teresa over at 8 Things About Me challenged me to work on 2 of the same cards she was doing, by using the card below as inspiration.
This is the original card that we went off of and you can go to Teresa's blog to see her version!
We found this card on PINTEREST but you can go to Just Give Me Stamps to see the original post as well as several ideas.

This is my version of the sketch. While not my best work probably, I mainly have been trying to use all the scrap papers I have laying around..and at best, it's one more card to count as done.

For the month of March, I am suppose to get working on handmade gifts...so far..I've started on none..someone kick me in the pants please :)

A Family Valentine Dinner

Anybody that knows me knows that I LOVE holidays..big or small..
I love to find fun stuff to do for all of them..
I like to spoil my guys with fun food and little surprises.
This year we had a delayed Valentine's Dinner, but that didn't matter to us it just made the
Valentine's celebration last a bit longer!!
I went simple this year with pizza..besides I couldn't go wrong my guys love pizza!
I also got out that fondue set...which is becoming a holiday dinner tradition with the boys..they love dipping stuff in that thing.!!
I added little choclates and gifts to each place setting..
filled their glasses up with carmel filled chocolates..YUM!

Attempted to take some good pictures of the boys...FAIL...

And even let Carter snap one of Dan and I...FAIL lol..I really should not allow photos when I am in housewife mode!

One of the table setting favors I bought were these balloons in a bag..
You set them on the table, give them a whack and then the bag swells up and pops and flys across the room!
It was neat..and at 4 for $1...it was a cheap thrill...and we laughed when one attacked Dan!

They are still in the bag at this point..just moments away from popping and flying...

And these are the little balloons that popped out of them...Dan was not impressed that I wanted a picture with his little balloon lol..

Caleb said.."hello kitty...really mom!" but honest it wasn't my fault you just don't know what's gonna pop out of those little bags!!
I think Carter got the most excitement out of them!
He was amazed at how they worked and out popped a balloon! (Thank God he got a hair cut!)
And of course we had a bottle of bubbly...grape juice that is..do you know that stuff tastes better when drank out of a wine glass??

Nope..Dan's still not impressed by my camera......

Yummy chocolate dipped marshmellow.....

Anybody wanna play chubby bunny???

We really had a fun time! We don't always get to sit down at the table together, alot of time we are on the run..so it's moments like these when we can catch our breath and enjoy the boys when they aren't fighting and bickering that make putting all this together more then worth it!
You can see last year's Valentine's dinner here and last years St.Patty's Dinner here. I don't have St. Patty's Day planned yet..but I will come up with something..big or small..we will see..but fun indeed!!

What's On My Phone Tuesdays

LEGOS!!!

Pinterest Play Day!-Make your own chalk board! EASY!!!

Excuse the crapola photos here....
I've had a piece of foam core board for over a year now...because..well...Im a packrat and can't throw anything away and I just knew that I would use it for SOMETHING...
Well..a year later that something has come...
A chalk board!!
I seen on pinterest how you can make your own chalkboard paint using powdered tile grout...well.I didn't have any of that, but I did have plaster of paris..so i figured..really...what do I have to lose??...
So I gathered all my supplies...
foam core board
plaster
black acrylic craft paint
foam brush
disposable cup....
and away i went...
I squirted about a half cup of paint into the cup and 4 scoops of plaster into the paint.
I stirred it well with the foam brush and then painted the foam core...
I let it dry..and it dries quick and painted on 4 more layers..
To hang it I used those command adhesive strip thinga ma bobs...
Seeings as the foam core was so light they were perfect for this project...

In about an hour I was able to write on the board with chalk..

I hung this in my kitchen..and the whole family has had fun drawing on it..
leaving messages and words of encouragement..and WHAT'S FOR DINNER!!!
The plaster seemed to do the trick! I've since wiped it down with a damp cloth and the paint did not come off. The possibilies on this project are endless! You could paint anything! Even a wall..or door..or...well you get the idea :) Also keep in mind you can use any color paint you want!
Have fun with it!!
